1. Healthy Eating - Facts v Fads Why do I sometimes get the ‘afternoon slumps’ at work?
How can I sort the nutrition facts from the fads?
What is a kilojoule? And what relevance is it to me?
This workshop provides an important background to understanding diet and nutrition.
Energy balance, fats, proteins and carbohydrates are explained and translated into foods and food patterns that can be adopted for optimal health. Participants will walk away with a clear idea of how to apply realistic changes to their eating patterns and achieve clearer thinking, more energy and a greater sense of healthfulness at work. |
2. Sports nutrition How do our nutrition needs change when we exercise and train regularly?
What food and drink provides an advantage for physical exertion?
In this workshop Belinda discusses the concepts from workshop 1 in further detail. The energy balances required for exercise and physical exertion are covered in detail. This is useful particularly for highly active individuals or those about to take on a new training regime. |
