Positive Health

About Positive Health

The Positive Health team are all health professionals with over two decades of clinical experience between them.

We combine our extensive knowledge with an engaging, interactive style that enables participants to learn and benefit greatly from our programs.

The team are...

David Hall - Physiotherapist (centre)
Dr Ros Lethbridge - Clinical Psychologist (left)
Belinda Recinella - Dietitian (right)

David, Ros and Belinda share a common philosophy based on a proactive, empowering and highly interactive approach to health and wellbeing.

Our approach focuses on individuals within an organisation. There is mounting evidence that this approach has benefits not only for the individuals, but the whole organisation. A recent report from VicHealth outlines this finding.

David Hall - Physiotherapist

David is the founder of "Positive Health". He believes strongly in the importance of self responsibility and empowerment in health. David also believes in being proactive and aiming to prevent health issues rather than waiting till something goes wrong. His background includes...

1. Over a decade of Physiotherapy clinical experience
Includes working in public hospitals, private Physiotherapy clinics and pain management centres, both in Australia and the UK. David has developed a deep understanding of how to obtain and maintain excellent physical health without major disruptions to your lifestyle.

2. Understanding of mind-body connections
In the early 1990’s David supplemented his undergraduate Physiotherapy degree with two years of Psychology study through the University of Melbourne. He has subsequently attended and/or presented at various courses focusing on the Mind body connection, particularly in relation to pain. He is actively involved with Noigroup Australia, a group dedicated to promoting better understanding of pain among health professionals and the community.

3. Personal triumph over Chronic Pain
David has himself fought back from chronic neck pain. His experience and resolve in doing so provides the foundation and inspiration for the “Positive Health” approach. David’s experience has given him the firm belief that good physical health comes from empowerment within oneself.

4. Many years of group facilitation experience
Both inside and outside of David’s professional experience, he has facilitated many group activities from the small (pain management groups and team building) to the very big (trivia nights and summer camps). He is an active member of the Australasian Facilitators Network, which promotes improved techniques in facilitation and education. The interactive nature of David’s approach makes his workshops both informative and fun.

David conducts individual Physiotherapy consultations at "Absolute Physiotherapy" at 131 High St, Prahran, Victoria. For bookings call 03 9510 3555.

Dr Ros Lethbridge - Clinical psychologist

As both a clinical psychologist and lawyer, Ros’ strength is her unique background of corporate and clinical skills that enable her to develop and deliver Positive Health. She has both a personal and professional understanding of the demands made of executives, and uses evidence-based methods to enhance personal and professional effectiveness and wellbeing.

1. Breadth and depth of experience
Ros has ten years experience as a commercial lawyer in Australia.  She began her career with Allens Arthur Robinson, and continued this association while she completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.  Her clinical experience spans public and private hospitals and mental health clinics. For several years she coordinated and facilitated anxiety outpatient programs at The Melbourne Clinic, a private psychiatric hospital. She is an accredited trainer working as a  consultant to the beyondblue National Workplace Program.

2. Broad clinical focus
Ros teaches her clients to make simple yet radical shifts in their relationship to the thoughts, feelings and bodily sensations that contribute to stress, anxiety and depression.  Her approach is solidly grounded in current psychological research, and integrates traditional cognitive behaviour therapy into an acceptance and commitment (ACT) framework.  She is particularly interested in mindfulness-based strategies, which research shows contribute to physical and psychological health. In her clinical work, Ros works closely with the Melbourne Division of General Practice to deliver best practice psychological treatment through the Better Outcomes in Mental Health Program.

3. Experienced group facilitator
Ros has delivered workshops to refine the legal and professional skills of lawyers, and has facilitated corporate stress workshops for legal executives. She trains managers to recognise, assist and manage depression and related disorders in the workplace. She has run health and wellbeing courses for the general public, and specialist programs for individuals who experience anxiety and depression.  Her seminars, like David and Belinda's, encourage thoughtful interaction and aim to develop and refine participants' skills, emphasising a richer and more productive life.

Ros completed research

Ros is available for individual counselling at her private practice, specialising in the treatment of anxiety disorders and depression.

Belinda Recinella - Dietitian

Since completing her Master of Nutrition and Dietetics in Melbourne in 1998, Belinda’s experience as a dietitian is extensive both in Australia and the United Kingdom

Belinda has worked in a variety of settings including major hospitals, GP clinics and community programs.  She has held positions as a senior dietitian and student supervisor in many of these settings. Her participation in further learning guides and seminars have all helped to shape her understanding of nutrition and of popular perspectives.

Belinda has extensive experience in the areas of Cardiac Care, Diabetes, Weight loss and General Nutrition, both in one-to-one and group settings.  Her interest lies in empowering people with perspective and knowledge about food and eating habits, so that they can take control of their bodies and feel the best that they can…naturally.

Belinda also has the advantage of vast experience in group facilitation with projects including Obesity clinics, Diabetes education programs and her initiation and development of a "Clinician's guide to Renal nutrition" in 2003.

Belinda has a healthy, simple and realistic approach to her presentations. She notes a lot of misinformation in society regarding diet and nutrition and has a passion for ‘setting the record straight’

“Healthy eating for a healthy body is not as involved as people are led to believe… there are many myths to be busted!”

Belinda is available for private consultations in diet and nutrition at
